Green designs or Eco friendly products are an increasingly popular trend in the product design segment of the industry. As the awareness and demand for environmentally friendly products is rapidly increasing, the need for suitable product designs crafted according to the “going green” theme has become almost a mandatory requirement for product manufacturers.

Eco Product Designing

Eco friendly design trends showcase the use of natural themes, shapes, styles and designs, which appeal to the green conscious market while adding a distinct style to the product. Inspiration for design can come from colours, shapes, history, functionality, environmental objectives, just about anything.  Some products are easy to see the inspiration behind them.  Products influenced by the Stealth Design Trend are fascinating to look at and the ‘Triangle Framework” isn’t always the first thing you notice.

So what defines the Stealth Design Trend?

With the need to attract the attention of the target market, the stealth design is in the list of the top product styles which are being adopted to give a product a retro and unique look.

The stealth look is generally known as the “triangle design” in which the product is designed and crafted in such a way that small or large triangles constitute its main style. The triangular look is used for the design of products which need to showcase precision, improved dynamics, and clarity.

The stealth design is used to give an edgy yet stylish look to a product. The Good Design Awards Wrap Up

5th Dimension Design has had an amazing journey throughout the Good Design Awards 2014.  The process culminated in a Gala Awards Night hosted at the White Bay Cruise Terminal in Sydney on May 28th.  There were many deserving winners and an array of innovative designs reinventing everyday items and some fresh new concepts that have been brought to life by some very creative minds.

You can check all the entries, finalists and winners in the 2014 Good Design Yearbook .

The 2014 Awards attracted the highest number of entries in the history of the awards.  The standard of competition was extremely high with a large contingent of entries from international and world renowned designers.

Although this year 5th Dimension Design didn’t come away with a  Good Design Award, we are so proud of our Good Design Selection and are honoured to have been recognised amongst such a high caliber of entries.

We would like to congratulate all the Award recipients on their success and look forward to having another go next year.

Good Design Selection Showcase

5th Dimension Design’s entry ‘The Green Wing” is on display in the Good Design Selection Showcase in Sydney’s popular Martin Place.

The showcase starts today and runs to 9th June as an outdoor exhibition featuring the best in cutting edge design and innovation from Australia and the world.  This is the first exhibition of its kind in Australia and showcases the latest in product design across 15 main categories.

The Good Design Selection is a free event, open to the public during VIVID Sydney and includes everything from the latest domestic products, consumer electronics, medical equipment, sporting products, toys, business and industrial equipment, fashion accessories and everything in-between – this showcase of design brilliance is sure to have something for everyone.

If you are in Sydney over the next couple of weeks check it out.

5th Dimension Design enters the Good Design Awards, Australia

For the first time, 5th Dimension Design has proudly submitted an entry into the Good Design Awards. The Good Design Awards, hosted by Good Design Australia is Australia’s longest standing national design award and promotion program.

The program is one of the few forums for professional Industrial Designers and manufacturers to showcase their design expertise to national and international audiences. As a result of more than 50 years of design benchmarking, the program focuses on progressively raising the standard of design and innovation in Australia.

5th Dimension Design has worked together with Castpoints to make their idea a reality. Derived from the concept of creating a fixture that performs two functions – direct drilling seed planting and weed control cultivation, The Green Wing was born and launched into the market in 2012. The Green Wing is an innovative solution to a number of problems faced by everyday farmers and delivers a sustainable approach to farming through waste minimisation manufacturing and materials.

Judging is set to begin on the 29th April, with the finalists being announced on the 6th May, 2014.
